It is not necessarily true that finished content should be published once the writer has completed it. Under certain circumstances, as with press releases, software updates, or critical announcements, it is essential that content is created during work hours yet scheduled for publication in advance, at any time specified by the administrator.
With InsightBuilder® 2 (IB2), content contributors can specify to the minute when the content should be published and when the content should be removed. IB2 additionally keeps time to the international atomic clock, ensuring extremely precise scheduling. In this way, content contributors need not worry about the micromanagement of content deployment and can focus on the content itself.
Different versions of the same document can additionally be published at different times or sent to different servers. So, for example, the site administrator can decide that the HTML version of a document will be published in a week, but that the PDF version of that same document should be published right away. Content thus can be repurposed easily into different layouts and also across different physical and temporal locations without disrupting publishing.
